Exceptional Argentine soloists with a guitar maestro: Tango at its most essential. With Franco Luciani, El Chino Laborde, Rudi Flores and guests. Tablao de Tango, or the blues from the port of the Rio de la Plata, is a radical plunge into pure Tango, as it was born at the mouth of the Rio de la Plata in the late 19th century. Far from “tango for export”, with its glitter and spectacular avatars, this luxury line-up of great soloists - and their travelling instruments, guitar, harmonica and voice - embodies an unadorned port blues. Like fado or rebetiko, it's a philosophy of the underworld, a protean song of exile, “of alcohol and lovelessness”, still very much alive today in the “boliches”, the bistros of Buenos Aires.
